Force 8 Photo Digital began life in Hong Kong in 1991 as a photography business owned and operated by Canadian national Randolph Lagerway.
For ten years we shot everything from executive portraits to magazine covers for various Hong Kong magazines including Asiaweek, Asian Business, Institutional Investor, Travel News Asia, Electronic Business Asia and more. Early adopters of computer imaging technology we were soon doing special effects and multi-image computer generated imagery for magazine covers and brochures.
In 2001 Force 8 Photo Digital relocated to the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia and quickly forged a reputation for high quality photography and computer generated graphics which led to the growth of a full graphics design and website development department.
Aerial photography continued to be a large part of our business, shooting from R22 and R44 choppers (when clients wished to come along) and Cessna 172 aircraft. This was augmented with the 6m long helium filled blimp tethered to a 120m anchor line. The extensive blimp work eventually led to embrace of the drone, not just for photography but for aerial 2D and 3D mapping.
