A great advertising photo works closely with the ad or brochure headline and copywriting to tell a compelling story.
Recently we were commissioned by the Aevum Group to visit their Caloundra Belcarra Retirement Community and get some shots of the facilities there. We spent the day shooting their facilities ranging from the lawn bowls to snooker to the swimming pool. About six residences were also photographed.
The local on-site manager had organized for a number of community residents to be available for parts of the shoot. We shot a number of sequences on the lawn bowls and smelling an award-winning shot, I closed in on a shot with three main characters in the foreground. The lady was a real character and when she did a victory dance I knew I was close. I asked her to turn around and face the group and do it again and voila, the winner shot that eventually graced the company’s print advertising a few weeks later.
The headline The Way A Neighbourhood Should Be and photo work absolutely beautifully together. Click on the link photo to see the ad in more detail.
Aerial Photography is a powerful way to show location and the target property assets. Higher altitude images (up to 8,000 feet ASL) are great to show large tracts of land and relative position of large properties in relation to amenities such as highways, cities and ocean that are not actually very close by. Lower altitude images (up to 400 feet (120m)) are excellent ways to show properties that are smaller and closer to amenities. We use fixed wing aircraft and helicopters for high altitude photographs, and our drone for all low altitude photography. We are also now offering aerial photography and mapping using the drone which permits amazing footage of projects and natural landscapes as well as aerial mapping allowing progress shots with the drone flying exactly the same programmed route at desired intervals from weeks to months to years.

The Stonemaster Quarry Team wish to extend their appreciation for the aerial shoot Blimpworx has provided them. The digital photos have become an invaluable tool in our day to day business, assisting us with the onward development of the quarry and even for the tasks we didn’t initially think of, like overlaying the photos with the location of safety devices (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, muster points), cable layouts, and traffic management. Your aerial photos have become an integral part of the way we do business. Thanks again!

Blimp photography offers amazing aerial views of properties, showcasing the property in the foreground yet providing aerial views of the surrounding neighbourhood. Able to ascend to 120m (400 ft) on a tether line, the blimp photographer can move almost anywhere to get the best perspective. We have jumped fences, ventured down alleyways, stood at the end of docks, and yes, jumped on boats and shot from the middle of waterways. All in the name of getting that winning ‘hero’ shot.
One interesting project we did recently was for the NSW Road Traffic Authority. They were replacing and rejuvenating many parts on the drawbridge mechanism of Harwood Bridge between Ballina and Grafton, NSW. We went on-site several times to capture the action of the work barge, and installation of replacement top pulleys. It was a huge project and the RTA wanted documentation for its history books. We were delighted to learn that one of our aerial photos graced the cover of the NSW RTA 2010 Annual Report! Click the thumbnail to see the front cover. The picture actually wrapped around to the back cover as well.
